So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) Recap 6/19/17: Season 14 Episode 2

The auditions continue in Los Angeles. Tristen and Jensen are the first couple to audition. They have been dancing together for years. Nigel asks them if there is a romance going on. Tristen says no. They will perform a samba. Mary thought some of their connections were weak. Vanessa thought they danced beautifully. Nigel tells Jensen that it was girls like her that got him into dancing. They will move forward. Cody, a 25-year old horse rider, comes to the stage wearing a belly dancing costume. His inspirations are Britney and Shakira. He will perform a hip hop fusion/belly dance. Mary tells him he doesn’t have enough in his routine to call it fusion. Vanessa thinks it is great he is doing what he loves. He does not make it to the next round. Next up, a young teen whose parents choreographed for Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson. She performs and has all kinds of energy. Nigel loved her. Mary thought she was on fire. So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) Premiere Recap 6/12/17: Season 14 Episode 1

It’s the Los Angeles auditions. Mark, age 26, from Hawaii is the first contestant to hit the stage. He has been dancing since he was 5. He is doing breaking contemporary. He begins is act. The crowd is quiet with awe. At the end they cheer. Mary loves what he did just now. It was artistic. It was out of this world. Nigel loved it as well. Vanessa thinks he radiated. He was fun to watch. He is moving forward. Kristina and Vasily are up next. The couple can’t seem to agree on how long they have been together! They are married. The music begins. Vasily is blindfolded. The judges whisper how beautiful their routine is. Nigel calls them stunning. Mary is crying. She thinks they really took it to an artistic level. Vanessa thinks it was beautiful and romantic. They make it to the next round. Robert Green, a 24 year old from North Carolina, previously played the violin. He was always an outcast. This is it. A winner will be crowned America's favorite dancer on So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation . It feels like forever ago that we were at auditions with the little ones under the age of 13, and now the Final Four, Tate, J.T., Emma and Kida, are set to take the stage one last time before one of them wins the $250,000 and gets to be on the cover of Dance Spirit. I think any one of the four could take the title. Personally, I think that Kida should win. He's really grown throughout the competition, and he's taken every bit of advice the judges have given him to heart and applied it to his next performance. However, I think Tate will win.
